Property Description

The Sweet Investment Property is an improved industrial/professional office and transit warehouse building and a detached service repair garage. The building was originally purpose built for Barber Transportation Company in 1969 as its new headquarters. Barber Transportation was one of the largest employers in Rapid City at that time. Barber Transportation was founded in 1948 by Milo Barber. Milo's wife Zella, assisted by her brother Charles Sweet, managed the company after Milo's death. Barber Transportation the late 80's sold the business to a larger trucking company. In 1992 after Zella's death, the Barber's nephew, Mike Sweet, took over the management of the building and property. In 2000, Mike Sweet opened Sweet Investment Properties and Mike's heirs are the current owners of the property. True to its transportation past this property has consistently had trucking companies leasing the dock bays and office suites since the early 1990's.
